"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

— Teddy Roosevelt

For Faculty

The Roosevelt Institution at Yale is a founding chapter of a national network of student think tanks. We organize students into six policy centers. These centers bring students together to conduct original policy research to address problems at all levels of government.

In addition to these centers, Roosevelt exists to build connections between students and policymakers. We believe that students routinely conduct high-quality policy research during normal classroom assignments like term papers. Roosevelt provides the infrastructure to put these papers and ideas into the hands of relevant lawmakers.

If you teach a class focusing on one or more areas of public policy, we invite you to forward research to us. We will consider it for our national policy publications, which are circulated to members of Congress and thousands of state and local lawmakers around the country. Additionally, we will seek out relevant lawmakers and government officials and promote this research to them.

We are always looking for advisers on a wide variety of policy issues, as well as on the policy process in general. We are continually working to develop new ways to connect students ideas' and passion to the policy process, and welcome suggestions for collaboration.
